| Passengers is a 2016 American science fiction adventure film directed by Morten Tyldum and written by Jon Spaihts. It stars Chris Pratt, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Sheen, Laurence Fishburne and Andy García. The film tells about two people who wake up 90 years too soon from an induced hibernation on board a spaceship bound for a new planet. The film was released in the United States on December 21, 2016 in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D by Columbia Pictures. Upon its release, Passengers received mixed reviews from critics and has grossed $122 million against its $110 million production budget |
